TMJ & Teeth Grinding Relief with Botox

Jaw tension, headaches, and teeth grinding can significantly impact your daily comfort. Many patients do not realize that chronic clenching and grinding — also known as bruxism — often contribute to TMJ (temporomandibular joint) discomfort. If you frequently wake up with jaw soreness, tension headaches, ear pressure, or notice wear on your teeth, overactive jaw muscles may be the cause.

One effective non-surgical treatment option, aside from a night guard, is Jeuveau.

How Jeuveau Works for TMJ & Bruxism

Jeuveau is a highly purified botulinum toxin that gently relaxes overactive muscles. When strategically injected into the masseter muscles (the strong muscles used for chewing), it reduces excessive clenching and grinding without affecting normal chewing, speaking, or facial expression.

By calming these overworked muscles, patients often experience significant relief from jaw pain and persistent tightness. This reduction in tension frequently leads to fewer headaches and migraines, while also decreasing the pressure felt in the ears and temples.

Smile Enhancement with Jeuveau

Beyond therapeutic relief, Jeuveau can be used for subtly enhance your smile by softening a "gummy" appearance, lifting downturned corners, and creating a more balanced, relaxed look while reducing excess muscle pull for improved facial harmony.

What to Expect

Treatment is performed in-office and typically takes about 20 minutes. Discomfort is minimal, and there is little to no downtime. Most patients begin noticing improvement within 3–7 days, with full results visible at two weeks. Results generally last about 3–4 months, and maintenance treatments can help sustain relief.

Who Is Not a Candidate

For your safety, we do not recommend Botox for individuals who are pregnant, or breastfeading, or those with known allergies to botulinum toxin, dairy, or eggs. If you are currently on blood thinners, we ask that you receive clearance from your physician before beginning treatment.

If you suffer from jaw pain, chronic clenching, or feel your smile could benefit from subtle refinement, we would be happy to discuss whether Botox is right for you. A thorough consultation will always be completed prior to treatment to ensure it is safe and appropriate for you.
